Juanita Brooks Conference
The Annual Juanita Brooks Conference honors the legacy of Juanita Brooks, a prolific writer known for her extensive work on family relationships, biographies, and the history of Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona, including her renowned account of the Mountain Meadows Massacre.
Each year, the conference team releases a Call for Papers inviting paper proposals on themes central to Brooks' work, including:
Family: Examining familial relationships and dynamics.
Biography: Delving into the lives and stories of individuals.
Region: Focusing on southern Utah and its neighboring areas (Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada).
Religion: Investigating religious influences and histories in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada.
This event provides a platform for both emerging and established scholars to contribute to the ongoing dialogue about the rich histories and cultures of the Intermountain West.
